Become a Member

Norristown Garden Club offers opportunities to learn and become involved in gardening and floral design.

Club activities include, but are not limited to, planting historic gardens, garden contests, horticultural therapy, flower shows, garden tours, a winter Holiday House Tour, and a youth gardeners program.

  • How do you become a member of Norristown Garden Club?
    Complete an application for membership in its entirety and submit it with a $10 application fee to the New Member Chair from May 1st to the last day of February. Upon receipt of your application and fee, your name and contact information will be added to the New Prospective Members List until the March Executive Board Meeting when you will be voted into active status. During this time, you are welcome to attend all meetings and activities; however, you may not vote or hold office.
  • You submitted your application, now what?
    You'll receive a copy of the Norristown Garden Club Yearbook. This book is indispensable, so familiarize yourself with it, take care not to lose it, and refer to it often. It contains: The history of the club and it's mission as a service organization The club's schedule and calendar of events The club's By-Laws and Constitution as well as the Standing Rules A listing of the various committees and chairpersons The current year's membership roster A sponsor will be assigned to you for your first year. Your sponsor will help: Acquaint you with the club Introduce you to other club members Ensure you are informed of upcoming events Encourage you to participate in the club's activities, workshops, and classes, especially Holiday House. New members will be voted into active status in March by the Executive Board and introduced as new members at the March general meeting. You will be expected to pay your annual dues by the April deadline.
  • What is expected of you?
    Attend at least three general meetings each year. Add info@norristowngardenclub.ccsend.com to your contact list to prevent email notifications from going to your spam folder. Keep informed by reading email notifications. Participate in Holiday House and other club activities. Hostess for at least 2 hours for the Holiday House Tour on the second Friday of December each year.
  • When and where are meetings held?
    Monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of September, October, January, February, March, May and June. September through May regular meeting location: Fairview Village Church 3044 W. Germantown Pike Eagleville, PA 19403 June regular meeting location: Central Schwenkfelder Church 2111 Valley Forge Road Lansdale, PA. 19446 Regular meeting time: 1:00 pm. Social time begins at 12:30 The November meeting is a luncheon at a different venue where guests are welcome. In April, we honor our new and long-term members at a members-only luncheon at another venue. No general meetings are held in July, August or December.
